I know that it's only Halloween but here in Canada we have already had Thanksgiving, so I thought that I would get you started thinking about Christmas.  Here is a little Christmas Sight Word Match freebie for you.  Children need to match the star to the tree.  It includes all the words on the Dolch Pre-Primer list.

Don't forget to head to the next blog for your sweet treat.  It's at First Grade Blue Skies.  You can grab it by clicking on the button below.

Halloween and a Freebie

Anyone see some spiders?  The children stuck spiders on my glasses when I told them I hated spiders.

We had a busy week but managed to get in a couple of halloween activities.  For this activity the children had to put the correct number of lollipops in the treat bag.  It's part of my Math and Literacy Activities for Halloween

We also talked about words we could read.  I didn't have colour words up on the wall yet so I made these cards.  I had the children colour them in and we put them up on the wall.  I was a lot more meaningful when the children did them themselves.

Frankenstein Craft

We made these really cute Frankenstein heads today.

We started out with a square on wax paper, some tissue paper, watered down white glue and face pieces.

We spread the glue on the wax paper.

And added the tissue paper.

We put on the face pieces.

And when it was dry, we cut it out.

They look great on our window.

Magnet Math

Today in math we worked on counting and patterning.  I had bought these magnetic games from Lakeshore a few years ago and they are perfect for children with fine motor problems.  The pieces stay where you put them.

You can also hold them up for children in wheelchairs and the pieces won't off.
