Giant What?

Giant marshmallows...






I found these giant marshmallows at Walmart the other day.  I was thinking that I could make s'mores with the children.  Or I could buy mini's and regular and we could sort them. Anyone else have any wonderful ideas that I could do with them?

    I always buy mini marshmallows and toothpicks and use them with the kids to make 3-D objects(the toothpicks are the edges and the marshmallows are the vertices)....not sure how this would work with giant marshmallows though?!

    My mother in law told me that some of the kids in her church's bible school program were using them to stamp with. Sounds like fun to me!

    I was going to put what Shelley said :) One year I subbed the last day of school for kindergarten and we took marshmallows and toothpicks and they could build whatever they wanted.

    Kids made shapes, objects, necklaces. And I did tell them they could eat 2 marshmallows (though I know some snuck more because of their faces and because they were tattled on lol).

    I know it's not winter but if you were doing a winter unit you could make snowflakes with them with toothpicks or snowmen.

    I love your idea to sort them! That would be really fun for the kids & then you could do the smores after the sorting. I also think the stamping with them is a good idea too! You could use the giant ones to stamp yellow circles & use other sizes to stamp around the yellow in other colors to make flowers. Perfect summer activity!

    You could have them guess which size would go the farthest and then graph the results. Then, of course, eat them :)

    The big marshmallows don't melt evenly when my family made them last summer. They sure make a mess. I found flat marshmallows this year that work really great in the microwave. Head over to my blog to see.
