Therapeutic Thursday

Today is Therapeutic Thursday.  I found this really hard to blog about.  I mean, what DO I do to relax after teaching?  DO I relax?  Often in my spare time, I'm creating activities for my classroom and to sell on TpT.

During the school year I'm a hockey mum.  I love watching my boys play.  Here they are from last year.  Yes, they are BOTH goalies, so I can't say that it's really relaxing to watch them.  Being a goalie parent is very stressful.

So when I do relax I like grab a Diet Pepsi (or my new favourite, Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi)

and curl up with a good book.

How do you like to relax?  Head on over to Blog Hoppin' to find out how other teachers spend their down time.

Must Haves Monday

Today kicks off a week of linky parties on Blog Hoppin'.

Monday is for "Must Haves" so I thought I would post about some of the things that I consider must haves for a special education class.

I hope you got a few ideas for things that I find useful in a special education class.  Hop on over to Blog Hoppin' for more "must haves" from other bloggers.

You Know It's Back to School When....

Well it's that time of year again.  Back to School!  Even though I have two weeks of holiday left, I know that the beginning of school is looming close.  Jeannie of Kindergarten Lifestyle is having a linky party about how you know it's back to school time.

This is the biggest tell tale sign for me.  I start having dreams.  Usually not good ones either.  I call them my "room dreams".  They usually involve me being in my room (which is of course not my room) because it is either too big or too small (I mean, I could touch both walls with my outstretched arms).   I have too many kids (like 50) or no one shows up.  It might have no furniture or it might be packed with so much stuff that I can't even turn around.  You get the picture.

This is the other tell tale sign that summer is coming to an end.  I have to start going to bed at a half way decent hour in order to start getting up earlier.  No more sleeping in or staying up late.

I've had a really great summer and I'm sad to see it go.

Back to School Blog Hunt Day 14

Today is day 14 of the Back to School Blog Hunt.  I'm sharing today with Tiffani from

TIFFANI
be sure to check out her blog for a great freebie.

I'm sharing two freebies that I use, beginning in the first couple of days of school.  The first one, I use to assess letter recognition and the second one, I use to assess sight word knowledge.  I hope that you can use them in your class.  Both packs come with instructions on how to use the sheets with all your students, even if they can't talk.

I would love a comment if you downloaded the packages and found them helpful.

Follow along each day of the blog hunt for more back to school ideas.
