Have you got Spirit?

When I'm not teaching, you will usually find me at the arena.  And as a hockey mum I watch a lot of hockey; both, my own two boys and of course, the NHL on TV.  You can't be Canadian and not love your hockey.  My boys are both goalies. Talk about stressful.

I lot of people think that children with special needs can't play organized sports.  They can't be more wrong.  Around the country there are lots of special needs hockey teams (and other sports for that matter).  When we watched the hockey game on TV on Saturday, Don Cherry showed the most inspirational video I've seen in a long time.  If you are a hockey lover, or even a sports lover, you will love the following video.  Even if you don't like sports you need to watch this clip entitled "Spirit".  This is the true spirit of hockey.

It's a buggy world

My newest is finally posted.  I can't wait until spring.  Seeing all these bugs has made me long for warmer weather.  It's still snowing here.

Snow anyone?

Were you stuck in the snow storm yesterday.  I was.  Our buses were cancelled but we still had to report to school.  In the end one child showed up.  We did get to go home early but my normal 30 min drive took 2 hours.  I also got stuck at the end of our road and my hubby had to come a rescue me.

Can you see the boys sleds?  They will have to dig them out if they want to use them.

 I am so thankful for the neighbour who ploughed our driveway this morning.  I would have taken forever to do it by hand.

The snow is up to my knees at the end of the driveway.

 I noticed little bird tracks in the snow.  So cute.
