Bee Math Work Station Activities

Even though it snowed here yesterday, I'm thinking about spring.  I made these bee activities for my math work stations.  A few of my students still need to concentrate on numbers 1 to 10.  I think these activities will help them solidify their counting skills.

I'm Elmo and I Know It

My own boys who are 8 and 11 love the "I'm sexy and I know it" song and I must admit it's a very catchy song.  I recently came across this version that is more child friendly.  I can't wait to show it in class on Monday.  What do you think?

A Good Read: Tomorrow Girls series

Last night I thought I would take a break from doing some work.  I hadn't really read a book in a while and the one I had going wasn't doing anything for me.  I had picked up the Tomorrow Girls series by Eva Gray at Christmas and decided to give it a try.  The story is set in the future when the world is at war.  The books are about 4 girls that are sent to a boarding school for their protection.  While there, the girls suspect that something is not right.  There are 4 books in the series and each book is from the point of view of a different one of the girls. I really enjoyed the first book.  I started and finished it last night.  It grabbed my attention and kept it.  I ended up staying up a little later than I normally do in order to finish it.  Luckily I picked up all 4 books.  I can't wait to started the second one tonight.

Bee Calendar Numbers Freebie

Are you ready to spruce up your calendar for spring?  These cute calendar numbers from 1 to 31 have a bee theme that will have your students thinking of warmer days. These cards also contain an ABC pattern for practicing this important skill in a fun way.  Use them for your calendar or in math centers for ordering numbers to 31. If you make two copies, the cards make a fun matching game.
